CD03-10: Seosan, Song for Winnowing away the Chaff from the Grain
(Seosan, Chungnam Province/ Yu, Gwang-sun(58yrs)/ 1993)
◆ Sung while throwing up rice with a spade made of wood, in order to blow away bits of straws mixed with grains after threshing the rice stalks. While one person throws up the chaff with the wood spade, another blows away the straw by making wind with a winnow or a strow mat.
(Content of Song)
“O-heng
Scoop up the rice high and throw it far
Sweep well with a broom stick make the grain pure
The wind is strong like a good wind in your sails and everyone is doing well
It's our last work so don't complain of hard work and let's winnow it well”
