◆ Sung while planting rice sprouts. This song demonstrates that 'Arirang' which is known as the representative korean folk song, was also used as a farming song. The people singing the refrain were called 'Aegipae'(group of babies), who stood up straight to sing refrain, and planted the sprouts when the leading singer sang.

The sprouts we plant in this rice paddy grow well
The sun is setting on the western mountains but we still have lots of work to do
Looking at the smoke of cooking rises from all over the valley
